Electrician Philly

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 31, 2026

Electrician Philly is operated by The Discoverability Company, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This policy explains what we collect, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and our text-message service.

Text messaging, in one paragraph. If you are an electrical contractor who joined our roster, we do not share your mobile number or your messaging consent with anyone. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is used only to send you the lead alerts you signed up for. Reply STOP to any message and they end immediately.

Separately, and this is a different thing: if you are a homeowner who submitted a request for an electrician, we pass the details you gave us to licensed electrical contractors so one of them can contact you about that job, and contractors pay us a referral fee. That is the service you asked for. It is not marketing, we do not sell your information to data brokers or advertisers, and homeowners are not sent marketing text messages.

1. What we collect

CategoryExamples
Information you give usName, phone number, email address, property address, the problems you select, and anything you type into the notes field
Consent recordsThat you ticked the consent box, the version of the terms you accepted, and when
Technical informationA one-way hashed version of your IP address, your browser user agent, and bot-protection results. We store the hash, not the IP itself
Contractor informationFor electricians on our roster: name, company, mobile number, email, license number, service area, and payment records
Message recordsText messages sent to and received from you, and their delivery status

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and the service is not directed to them.

2. Contractor text messaging

Electrical contractors join our roster at electricianphilly.com/for-electricians by entering their mobile number and checking a consent box. We use that number only to send the lead alert text messages they signed up for and to receive their replies.

3. Homeowner referrals

This is a separate flow from the text messaging above. When a homeowner submits a request for an electrician, we pass the details they gave us to licensed electrical contractors on our roster so one of them can contact them about that job, and contractors pay us a referral fee. That is the service the homeowner asked for.

4. What we do not do

5. Service providers

We use a small number of processors to run the service: Cloudflare (hosting, database, bot protection), Twilio (text messaging), and Stripe (contractor payments). They process information on our instructions to provide the service.

6. Why we can use your information

We use it to refer your request to contractors, to send you a confirmation and service messages, to prevent fraud and abuse, to keep records of consent and transactions, and to comply with law.

7. Your choices

Pennsylvania does not currently have a general consumer privacy statute. We honor the requests above regardless of where you live.

8. How long we keep it

We keep lead records, consent records and transaction records for as long as needed for our business records, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. generally no more than seven years. Message logs are kept for two years. You can ask us to delete earlier, subject to records we must retain.

9. Security

Information is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure and transmitted over TLS. Access is limited to people who need it to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date will change, and material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
